In September this year, on very short notice, 'WSL Ving Tsun Combat Science – Malaysia' principal instructor, Sifu David Peterson, accompanied by his wife, Norintan, chief assistant instructor, Jon Dep, and senior student, Yong Chuah, journeyed into China to meet with world renowned Bruce Lee expert, author and documentary maker, John Little and his cameraman, Richard Ellard, at the famous Shaolin Temple complex in Dengfeng County, Henan Province.

The purpose of the journey was to film interview and live-action footage for an upcoming documentary feature about Bruce Lee's connection with the Ving Tsun (Wing Chun) system and with the late Sifu Wong Shun Leung. Over two full days of intensive filming, shot on location in and around the iconic birthplace of Chinese gung-fu, more than a dozen hours of footage was shot for possible inclusion in the proposed documentary that will be released in early 2013, by a major Hollywood film studio, in a major worldwide DVD release. While there, we also became one of the subjects of a Mongolian television documentary on Chinese Gung-fu that was being filmed there at the same time!

Presently, no more can be said about the project, except to say that it is a very special presentation on a major re-release of a classic film by the late Bruce Lee and we are extremely proud to have been asked to play a part in its creation, and greatly honoured to be approached by Mr Little to feature in his latest project. Those familiar with John's previous work will be very aware of the quality of his presentations and high regard that he is held in by the Martial Arts industry and Bruce Lee fans around the world. As such, we thank him very much for asking us to be involved, and for his friendship & inspirational company during our brief time together.

All going well, there may also be a much more detailed full-length documentary on the Ving Tsun (Wing Chun) system that will be released by John Little independently a bit later on, with a great deal of the footage that we shot included in that feature as well. In the meantime, please enjoy looking at some of the many photographs that were taken during the film shoot and watch out for further news of the release of these documentary features right here in our News section in the coming months.
